But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. [ 1 Corinthians 12:7 ]
Tongues are a wonderful spiritual language but they are not an excuse for us to pray with our minds absent.
That is why I encourage you: when you are praying in tongues, pray in another language as well.
Let us not enter into a room just to fulfil a routine of prayer.
Pray out of a relationship with your God. We should not simply focus on ourselves as we pray; let us focus on others as well.
When you are building yourself up it doesn’t make news. What truly makes news is when you begin to build other men.
Excerpt from sermon: ‘Amazing Grace’ – Bishop Isaiah Mbuga, 16-02-16
Thank you Father God for the gift of the prayer language of tongues; may I never use it as a routine. As I build myself up speaking this language, may others be built up to the glory of Your grace. Amen.
