Raising the Standard

Posted on

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14

When Paul was put in prison towards the end of his life he just said,  “I wish I could know Him more”.

Yet when you are just denied school tuition, you want to renounce your salvation and go back to religion!

Some people even lower their standards further. They say: “As long as the man prays ‘through Jesus Christ our Lord’, I will marry that one”. No! We are taking it higher. If that man or woman is not yet broken by God, they will break you when you marry them.

Remember, a man who doesn’t speak in tongues is a man running on flesh life. This is a nature thing. If you don’t speak in tongues don’t think I am offending you.

You need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and then you yourself will give a name to what you were before you spoke in tongues. I know what I am talking about.

Excerpt from sermon: ‘Amazing Grace II’ – Bishop Isaiah Mbuga, 17-02-16

Prayer
I thank You Father for the standard that is raised in my life today. I refuse to be conformed to the worldly way of living. I declare that I live by the Holy Spirit and by the Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Scriptures: Phil 3:10-14
Topics: Trial, Marriage, Tongues
